Yesterday, experts felt "the pulse" of Taihu Lake in China Water Week from March 22nd to 28th. In China per capital domestic water usage of urban residents is 180 litres a day beyond the level of the developed countries. The level is 135 litres a day in Germany and 173 litres daily in the Netherlands. According to such water consumption, the long-term target of national economic and social development in all corners of Taihu Lake will go by the board due the lack of water. At the same time when treating the pollution, saving water shall be done step by step. Doing like this, water resource of the Taihu Lake can be able to meet the normal demand of the coming national economic and social development.
