invite applications for the position of
Regional Coordinator
(Initially six months with possibility of extension)

to assist the International Expert in implementing the following SPPD project: Assessment of Resources, Best Practices and Gaps in Gender, Science and Technology in the Asia-Pacific Region


Duties and Responsibilities:

Recruited primarily for the regional scanning and based in Manila or Jakarta, the Regional Coordinator will assist the International Expert in organizing the survey, in monitoring to ensure quality control and in consolidating survey findings.

  • Assists International Expert in the planning of survey as well as analysis and finalizing of results;
  • Assists International Expert in the definition and formulation of survey questions and methodology;
  • Coordinates the survey in all 12 countries in cooperation with the national focal points, and works closely with country institutions or organizations selected to conduct survey;
  • Integrates, analyzes and finalizes all data gathered from all participating countries in the region;
  • Conducts regional information dissemination activities to promote the application of findings and lessons and coordinates with UNDP country offices and related UNDP projects like the HIV/AIDS and Development Messages STS Project;
  • Organizes consultation and assessment meeting to ensure attainment of objectives.
  • Qualification requirements:

  • At least a Master's degree in the Natural/Social Sciences, or equivalent;
  • Experience in regional or international project implementation;
  • A background in or a working knowledge of gender/women issues;
  • Excellent oral, analytical and report-writing skills in the English language;
  • Good computer skills;
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural and highly diversified working environment;
  • Ability to work under stringent deadlines with minimum supervision;
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
