Job vacancy of WWF China:
Freshwater and Marine Program officer

Position: Freshwater and Marine Programme Officer

Based in: Beijing

Main Function:

WWF has a strong freshwater programme in China, currently focused on restoring the Yangtze as a ˇ°Living River,ˇ± through habitat restoration, biodiversity conservation and integrated river basin management (IRBM). The officer will manage the WWF Freshwater Team, supervise and ensure delivery of current projects, and take the lead in WWF's IRBM work in China. The officer will also develop new initiatives on freshwater issues related to WWF's global conservation priorities, including wetland conservation, wise water use and sustainable management of the Mekong and Amur rivers.

Requirements:

  • Strong strategic planning, team management, project design, and communication skills.
  • At least 10 years experience in a relevant field (e.g. conservation, river basin management)
  • At least a Master's degree in a related field.
  • A high degree of personal integrity and commitment to conservation.
  • Work experience in China and knowledge of China's freshwater issues.
  • Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
