LEAD (acronym for Leadership for Environment and Development,LEAD project in China is called LEAD-China) headquarters is located in the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London . The Imperial College aims at cultivating middle aged and young leaders who are interested in both economic development and environment protection. LEAD conducts "leadership in sustainable development" training course and recruits associates in over 60 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and North America. It currently has over 1000 fellows and associates. In order to meet the demands of young people who are interested in sustainable development, LEAD-China office will holds the first "Leadership in Sustainable Development Training Course" at the same time as Cohort 10. The in-service training course lasts 18 months, and has 5 domestic sessions. The associates will study together for 27 days and receive long-distance training through the Internet for 3 months. After all the requirements are met, LEAD-China will award each associate a diploma signed by Mr. Qu Geping (the chairman of the board of director of LEAD-China).
