Big sandstorm hit again Ruoqiang in Xinjiang

In early morning of April 3rd, an extraordinary big sandstorm hit Ruoqiang County of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region again due to the influence of the cold air current from the north. The direct economic loss is RMB500,000 and indirect economic loss is RMB1 million.

Local news says that the average wind force of this big sandstorm is the 7th and the biggest is the 10th. The macro-visibility is only three meters. Local temperature dropped 8 degrees Celsius.

Primary investigation indicates that no casualty is found in the county. 200,000 newly planted tree seedlings were blew down. 200 sheep missed. 20 big trees 80 kilometers away from the county seat was blew down. At present the county actively organizes the people to save themselves and fight against the disaster.
