The continuous drought in northern China reduced remarkably the water in Yellow River Valley. Riverbed in part of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region already dried up. The bareness section from Qingtong Gorge to Shizuishan occupies 1/2 of the Ningxia section. The biggest bare riverbed approaches 1/3 of the river's width. From early this year to the present, the flow of the section reduced 15% to 20%.
